Options at 14

Choosing your subjects for Years 10 and 11 may be one of the first big decisions you will have to make about your learning.

There will be a range of subjects and ways of learning to choose from and because we are all different, you will need to think about what is best for you.

In Year 10 (in some schools this starts in Year 9) there will be some subjects that you will continue to study, such as, English, Maths, Science, ICT, PSHE, plus you will be able to choose from a range of other options.

These may include other GCSEs/ 14-19 Diploma/ vocational subjects/Young Apprenticeship. You will need to find out more about what your school can offer as well as what is best for you.

What are your strengths? Do you prefer to learn in a particular way? Are you keen on a particular career? Information, advice and guidance is available to help you.
